Concrete Supply Timed to Your Placement Rate in Detroit

Concrete supply is logistics. The slab spec, the slump on arrival, the truck interval, the mix design, all of it determines whether your crew gets a continuous pour or a stiffening mess. Detroit Concrete coordinates standard batched mixes, on-site volumetric mixing, and engineered specialty concrete, scheduled to land when you need it.

  • Batched to your slab spec
  • Tested at the plant before dispatch
  • Trucks roll on your placement interval

Three supply models

How Concrete Supply Fits Your Pour

Not every pour needs the same supply model. A large continuous placement calls for one approach, a partial-day job another, and an engineered slab a third.

Standard concrete batching at the plant covers most residential and commercial work. The slab spec locks the strength, air content and slump, the load is tested before the truck leaves, and trucks roll on the interval your crew can place. For jobs where access is tight or volume is uncertain, volumetric on-site mixing batches the concrete as you pour it, so you pay only for what you use and the mix stays fresh.

When the engineer specifies something beyond standard, specialty engineered mixes deliver high-strength concrete for structural members, self-consolidating concrete for dense rebar, or fibre-reinforced designs for crack control. We coordinate these alongside our concrete pumping services and manufacturing facility work.

The supply sequence

How Concrete Supply Gets Scheduled in Detroit

  1. Spec and design the mix

You provide the slab thickness, strength, air content, slump and any specialty requirement. We lock the mix design before any truck is ordered.

  2. Batch and test at the plant

The concrete is batched to the design and tested for slump and air content. What leaves the plant is what the spec asked for, not an approximation.

  3. Roll trucks on your schedule

Trucks arrive on the interval your placement rate needs, so concrete is always fresh and your crew never waits between loads or rushes to keep up.

  4. Verify and place

Slump is checked on arrival, the load is discharged at the rate you can place it, and test cylinders are cast on site for strength verification.

Beyond standard batching

Volumetric & Engineered Concrete Options

Volumetric concrete trucks change the economics of small or partial pours. The truck mixes concrete on site as you place it, so you pay by the cubic metre actually used, not by the full truck. This works for repair jobs, isolated footings, and specialty placements where a standard truck would be overkill.

Engineered specialty mixes are where the slab design meets supply. High-strength concrete for columns and beams, self-consolidating concrete (SCC) for heavily reinforced sections, fibre-reinforced designs for crack resistance. We batch to the engineer's drawings and coordinate with our concrete pumping and warehouse flooring teams so the supply and placement work as one system.

Common questions

Concrete Supply Questions, Answered

Mix design, volumetric supply, specialty concrete and scheduling for Detroit pours.

Standard ready mix is batched at a plant and delivered in a barrel truck. Volumetric concrete is batched on site by a volumetric truck as you place it, so you pay for what you use and the mix is always fresh.
Yes. Specialty concrete mixes include high-strength designs, self-consolidating concrete (SCC) for heavily reinforced sections, and fibre-reinforced mixes, all to your engineer's specification.
We confirm the spec, strength, air content, slump, slab thickness and any specialty requirement before any truck is dispatched, and the load is batched to that design and tested at the plant.
Volumetric concrete is ideal for small or partial pours because you pay by the metre actually mixed, not by the truck. Useful for repair work, footings and small specialty placements.
Yes. We schedule concrete pumping and ready-mix delivery together so the pump is set up when the truck arrives, the placement rate matches the discharge rate, and concrete never sits in the line or the drum.

★★★★★

Mix landed at slump every load and the truck interval matched our placement rate. Two-hundred-yard pour and we never waited or rushed.

★★★★★

Volumetric for a partial pour we could not justify a full truck on. Paid for what we used and the concrete was fresh start to finish.

★★★★★

Specialty high-strength mix for our column work. Batched to the engineer's design and the test cylinders came back exactly where they should.

T. E.

★★★★★

Coordinated the pump and the trucks so we ran a continuous footing pour. They treated supply as part of the job, not just delivery.
