We start with a compacted granular base, set the forms to a deliberate cross-slope (typically two percent), and pour the concrete slab. Once it sets, we finish it with a broom texture for traction or a decorative pattern if the walkway is part of the yard's visual design. Control joints are cut on a grid so the concrete moves seasonally without cracking randomly.
