Sealed Clean Room Flooring for Detroit Battery Facilities
Battery production zones demand floors that hold particles in place, release no chemical vapor, and maintain the airflow geometry the room depends on. Detroit Concrete builds seamless epoxy and urethane systems engineered for ISO clean room specifications, with particle verification, ESD grounding where needed, and transition details that keep the room's sealed boundary intact. Free written estimate on every project.

The particle problem
Why Standard Floors Fail in Clean Room Environments
ISO clean room ratings depend on particle count per cubic meter. Every surface in the room either adds to or subtracts from that budget. Uncoated concrete continuously sheds microscopic particles under foot traffic and equipment movement, consuming the room's particle allowance before production even starts.
We install smooth seamless epoxy or urethane systems matched to your ISO class, with chemistry that does not off-gas at operating temperature and a grounding scheme for ESD-sensitive zones. The installation follows clean room protocol: contained prep with HEPA filtration where required, sealed wall-to-floor transitions, door-frame integration, and post-cure particle verification to confirm the floor's contribution stays within budget.
Our approach integrates with the full EV battery flooring scope and connects to adjacent ESD manufacturing floors that share the same slab. We coordinate transitions so the clean room boundary stays intact.

How We Build Clean Room Flooring in Detroit
-
Determine ISO class and material spec
We identify the target ISO class, the particle budget the floor must meet, any ESD or grounding requirements, and the off-gas chemistry limits for your process. Material selection is locked to the class before prep begins.
-
Prepare slab under controlled conditions
The concrete slab is prepped using HEPA-filtered or sealed-prep methods to avoid contaminating adjacent spaces. Surface is ground to the system profile, cracks are filled with clean-room-rated repair material, and the slab is verified clean before coating.
-
Apply seamless epoxy or urethane
The smooth seamless system is applied without seams across the room footprint, with topcoat selected for the particle-shed and off-gas specs your process requires. Cove base at walls and sealed penetrations are part of the same continuous application.
-
Verify particle count and ESD resistance
After cure, particle count testing confirms the floor's contribution is within the ISO budget. ESD resistance is verified where required. Certification documentation is delivered for your clean room commissioning file.
The failure point
How Floor Transitions Compromise Clean Rooms
A perfect seamless floor across the room footprint can fail at the boundaries: the doorway to a non-clean space, the wall-floor junction, the pipe or cable penetrations. We detail every transition with seamless cove, sealed penetrations, and integrated door frames so the floor's clean integrity extends to the room perimeter.
Coordinate with EV battery services across your facility and with chemical-resistant flooring in adjacent production zones that may share the same slab.

Common questions
Clean Room Floor Questions, Answered
ISO class, particle budget, off-gas chemistry and transition details.
ISO-class verified at commissioning with our floor as part of the particle budget. Hit class, room ran first try. The seamless transition detail at the door made the difference.
Off-gas verification on the floor chemistry for our sensitive process. No detectable contamination at the production analytical limit. Spec matched the process requirement exactly.
Multiple clean rooms across our facility, each at different ISO classes. They specced per room rather than one system everywhere; class targets hit in every room first commissioning.
Documentation package supported the validation file. Material specs, install method, particle verification all included. Auditor signed off without revisions.
